Privacy policy

Effective 29 October 2026

The short version

  • UShow works on your own computer without an account. Your songs, presentations, media and settings stay on your computer, and nothing from your library is sent to us.
  • Once a day the app tells us its version, your system type and whether it is new or first seen this week or month, so we can count active installs. It sends no name, no account, no ID and nothing from your library, and you can turn it off in Setup › General. The app has no advertising.
  • A few times a day the app asks our server for the newest version, sending only its version and whether it runs on Mac or Windows, so it can tell you when to update. You can turn this off too.
  • If you create an account, we keep your email address, your name and a scrambled form of your password, so you can sign in and use cloud backup.
  • If your church subscribes to cloud backup, a copy of its library is stored on our server, encrypted.
  • This website uses no cookies and no analytics.
  • You can delete your account inside the app at any time.

Who we are

UShow is made by ERZTECH TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED, a company registered in Nigeria ("we", "us"). We decide how the information described here is used. Contact us about privacy at support@u-show.app.

Using UShow without an account

Everything you make in UShow is saved on your own computer. We cannot see it. The app sends us a short daily check-in and asks for the newest version (see Usage check-in and Update check below); you can turn off either. It does not report crashes, and nothing you make in UShow is sent. The phone remote talks to your computer over your own Wi-Fi network and does not pass through our servers.

Usage check-in

Once a day, while it is open, UShow sends our server a check-in so we can count how many copies are in use. It contains only:

WhatExample
UShow version1.0.4
System typemacOS 15 on Apple silicon
The month this copy was installed, or that it was installed before check-ins existedOctober 2026
Whether this is a new install, and whether this is its first check-in this week and this monthYes or no

It carries no ID, so two check-ins cannot be linked to each other or to you, even if you are signed in. We keep only daily totals, never the check-ins themselves. Your IP address is used to deliver the request and to limit repeated check-ins, and is not stored with the totals; our server's request records (see This website) also cover api.u-show.app and are kept for 14 days. To turn the check-in off, go to Setup › General and switch off Send anonymous usage check-in. With it off, UShow does not send the check-in. It still asks for the newest version unless you also turn off the update check.

Update check

A few times a day, while it is open, UShow asks our server for the newest version and the oldest version we still support, so it can tell you when to update and, if your version is no longer supported, ask you to update. The request says only whether this copy runs on Mac or Windows and which UShow version is asking; it carries no ID and nothing from your library. We do not count or store these requests; your IP address is used only to deliver the answer and appears in our server's request records like any request. To turn it off, go to Setup › General and switch off Check for updates. With both it and the check-in off, UShow does not contact us unless you sign in.

If you create an account

An account is optional. It lets you sign in and back up your church's library. We collect:

WhatWhy
Email addressTo sign you in, confirm your address, reset your password and send notices about your backup.
Your name and your church's nameTo show who is signed in and whose library a backup belongs to.
PasswordStored only as a one-way hash. We never see or store the password itself.
Sign-in recordsWhen you signed in and on which computer (its name, type and UShow version), so you stay signed in, and so changing your password signs out your other computers.
Email codesShort-lived codes to confirm your address or reset your password, stored only as hashes.

Cloud backup

Cloud backup is an optional subscription. If it is turned on for your church, UShow uploads a copy of the church's library: songs, presentations, media files and settings. Every file is encrypted on our server with AES-256. We hold the encryption key on our server, so this is not end-to-end encryption: our systems can decrypt your backup to restore it to you. We do not look at backup contents unless you ask us to help with a problem or the law requires it.

Emails we send

We send only emails about your account and backup: confirmation and password-reset codes, and notices if your backup is about to be deleted. We don't send marketing emails. Emails are delivered by Resend, Inc. (United States), which receives your email address and the message for that purpose.

This website

u-show.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. A setting for light or dark mode is saved in your own browser only. Like most web servers, ours records each request (your IP address, the page, the time and your browser's name) to keep the site running and secure.

Why we are allowed to use it

  • To provide the service you asked for (account, sign-in, backup and their emails): this is needed to perform our agreement with you.
  • To keep our systems secure (server records, limits on repeated sign-in attempts): our legitimate interest in protecting you and the service.
  • To count active installs (the usage check-in) and offer updates (the update check): our legitimate interest in understanding how a free product is used and keeping it up to date. You can object at any time by turning either off.
  • To meet legal duties, where the law requires us to keep or share information.

We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Where it is kept

Our server is in the United States (New York, operated by InterServer, Inc.). Emails are sent by Resend in the United States. If you are outside the United States, using an account or cloud backup means your information is transferred there.

How long we keep it

InformationKept until
Account and sign-in recordsYou delete your account. They are removed at once, and from our nightly database copies within 14 days.
Email codesThey stop working after 30 minutes, and are deleted with your account.
Cloud backupThe church's last member deletes their account, or backup is turned off. When backup is turned off, we keep the copy for 30 days so it can be restored, email every member before deleting it, then delete it.
Website and API server records14 days.
Usage check-in totalsKept as daily totals. They contain nothing about you.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. You can delete your account yourself in UShow under Setup › Account; see Delete your account. For anything else, email support@u-show.app from the address on your account. We will answer within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to your data protection authority, for example the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, the UK Information Commissioner's Office, or the authority in your EU country.

Security

Connections to our server use HTTPS. Passwords, sign-in tokens and email codes are stored only as hashes, and backups are encrypted at rest. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Children

UShow accounts are for adults who run church services. Please don't create an account if you are under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
