- Not signed yet, so Windows shows a warning the first time. What you will see.
- SHA-256
Install it on a Mac
- Open UShow-1.0.4.dmg from your Downloads folder.
- Drag UShow onto the Applications folder.
- Open UShow from Applications. The first time, macOS asks whether you want to open an app downloaded from the internet. Choose Open.
Install it on Windows
- Open UShowSetup-1.0.4.exe from your Downloads folder.
- Windows shows a blue box: Windows protected your PC. This is because UShow is not signed yet, not because anything is wrong with the file. Click More info, check that the publisher line reads Unknown publisher and the app name reads UShowSetup-1.0.4.exe, then click Run anyway.
- Choose Only for me if you do not have the administrator password for the computer. UShow installs into your own account and nothing asks for a password. Choose Anyone who uses this computer to install it for every account, which does need the password.
- Click Install, then Finish.
We are working on a certificate so that warning goes away. Until then, only download UShow from this page.
Checking the file is the one we published
Every download above lists a SHA-256, a fingerprint of that exact file. If the one you downloaded produces the same fingerprint, it arrived whole and unaltered. It is worth doing if your connection is unreliable, or if someone sent you a copy from somewhere other than this page.
On Windows, open PowerShell in your Downloads folder and run:
Get-FileHash .\UShowSetup-1.0.4.exe -Algorithm SHA256
On a Mac, open Terminal in your Downloads folder and run:
shasum -a 256 UShow-1.0.4.dmg
Compare what it prints with the SHA-256 on this page. They should match character for character.
Connecting your screens
One computer runs everything. Connect the projector or TV for the room as a second display, and the stage screen as a third if you use one. Set them to extend your desktop, not mirror it: on a Mac in System Settings › Displays (System Preferences on older versions of macOS), on Windows by pressing the Windows key and P and choosing Extend.
